Still running…

I figure this is a good place to chronicle my running progress.

I’m still a beginner.

I am entering week 5  of my 10 week training plan. It consists of interval training, This week it’s 3.5 mins run, 1 min walk repeat 9 times etc.

I also feel sore, I hurt and I am learning the importance of stretching..

I can’t wait till July. I better be able to run 4 miles straight by then.  At the moment, I can barely do 3.


My first race!

I registered for my first ever race! It’s a light 4 mile race through Central Park on July 17th. I can’t wait!

I’m glad I have awesome friends and family. They have been so supportive in my decision to start running.

Life Update

Hello world!

So, it’s been a while since my last post. I am pretty darn slack at blogging. Anyways, I figured I’ll try to give an update on my life since my last post. Please excuse the random nature of this post. I’m just writing things as I think about them. I don’t really feel like editing it.

  • I’m still writing music with some friends. The band went through sort of a break up with a couple really awesome members. No hard feelings between us, it was just musical differences.  However, myself and the 2 other remaining members are still writing songs. We had to change things around and pretty much start over but it’s worked out pretty awesome.  I hope to make a post featuring some new tracks in a couple months.
  • I still work at the same job, nothing really new to say there.  Just the same old stuff.
  • Oh yeah! I turned 30 this past March. That’s pretty crazy. I’m still dealing with the concept of not being a 20 something any longer. It’s not a bad thing, I’m just rethinking  some things about my life style.  For example, I quit smoking, (for good this time) starting eating healthy and  I also started running and strength training. I hope to shape up and actually look and feel good. I also want to be able to run races. I think this is something that I could really get into. At first it sucked, but now I’m starting to love it! It’s like a new addiction. I’m always looking forward to getting that runners high again. Yeah, my body hurts, but at the same time I can definitely feel my mood getting better.  I’m pretty sure diet and exercise is the reason why.

Well, That’s about it! Who knows, maybe I’ll actually update this thing more often.
